StagePlay Learning’s theater camps and classes may be new for your and for your child. To help you either make a decision or learn more about the commitment you’ve made to theater classes or camps, our coaching team has created a list of our customers’ most frequently asked questions. These questions and answers will help navigate what being a student at StagePlay Learning will be like. It’s important to us that you and you student to feel fully informed so that your child can get the most out of their theater coaching experience. Where is StagePlay Learning located and is parking available?
StagePlay Learning is located in Edwardsville, Illinois at 871 S. Arbor Vitae, Suite 4 in Edwardsville, Illinois. Parking is available on-site.

What do I bring to classes?
All you need for class is a water bottle and your willingness to learn.

Can parents stay and watch the class?
All classes and lessons at StagePlay Learning are drop off classes. Should you choose to stay, there is a comfortable lounge and waiting area.

Does my child need to have prior acting or theater experience?
No prior experience is necessary. StagePlay Learning’s theater classes and acting lessons are focused on developing confidence, creativity for those with or without experience.

What is a Final Showcase Performance?
On the last day of every theater class or camp, family and friends are welcomed and encouraged to attend a Final Showcase performance held at the StagePlay Learning studios in Edwardsville.

Will students sing and/or dance in StagePlay classes and camps?
Yes! Our classes incorporate singing, dancing, and acting that you’ll be able to witness first hand when you student in practicing at home or during the Final Showcase Performance.

Are gift certificates available for the theater classes and camps?
Yes! We offer a variety of gift certificates that are perfect for gift giving to support your student. Visit our gift certificates page to learn more about available options.

How are we notified that a class or camp has been canceled or rescheduled?
Parents will be notified via email and an announcement will be posted on the StagePlay Learning by Tessitura Music Facebook page.

What is the best way to notify you if my student cannot make a scheduled lesson or class? And, can this missed session be made up?
If you miss a theater class, this time cannot be made up and is not refundable. Make up times for one-on-one acting lessons may be available under specific circumstances. A minimum of 24 hours notice is required to be eligible for a make up lesson. Every effort must be made to make up the missed lesson in the same week. If you miss a lesson without cancelling within a 24 hour period, a make-up lesson will not be available to you.

If we’re ready to sign our child up for future classes, where do we do that?
Registration is always available for theater classes, summer camps and acting classes via their respective pages on this site. Should a class be filled, we will begin a waitlist and you will be notified if and when an opening becomes available.

Is there a discount if more than one of my children are enrolled in theater classes and/or camps?
StagePlay Learning does not currently offer this discount.

Can I schedule lessons or coaching for myself or my student for an upcoming audition?
Yes! We offer acting lessons in three or five session increments where we can focus on your monologue or audition pieces to help prepare you to shine!
